View Article  Hockey report

What a great weekend, had a relatively early night on Friday with only 1 bottle of wine between us and some good grub so when we woke up on Saturday we were ready for an early start. We packed the car and left for Shaftsbury following TomTom's instructions until the stupid machine got to Dorchester and wanted me to go up the tiny roads, she must think I'm daft! Went the main road route and was there in an hour, dropped the suitcase off at the hotel and headed into town.

Mary was going to come to Gillingham with me to look around whilst I played but we found Shaftsbury so nice it would have been a shame not to spend more time there. Plus, it was their Carnival Day so loads going on. We ate breakfast at the top of Gold Hill which is the one used in the classic Hovis advert, delivery boy going down the hill on an old bike! I left Mary there and she pottered and walked around whilst I went off to hockey, less said about that the better, lost 3-1 and I missed 6 goals....well, didn't miss them, all shots on target but I hit them all straight at the keeper, Mr Useless I was.

Raced back to Shaftsbury to meet up with Mary, found a great pub with decking out the back with fab views so sat there and had a coupl eof pints.

Late afternoon we looked for a nice restaurant but could find any obvious ones so decided to eat back at the hotel which was a good move as it was a very relaxing way of ending the day. Food was excellent too.

We had a large breakfast on Sunday morning and left early for Stourhead House, a really pretty National Trust property just 10 miles north of Shaftsbury. We spent the day looking around the gardens and house and had a really wonderful time. Mary took loads of photos so I'll load a few up on here.

When we arrived home we had an hour to read our books in the garden as the weather was fabulous for late Sept. but I was too tired to read, so fell asleep on the couch.

Dad helped me out on Wednesday morning, the over 65's get 10% discount at B&Q on a wed so I picked up dad, took my old flymo to the tip along with some of mum's garden rubbish then went to B&Q for my new mower, got £7 off the price so mission accomplished.

I was too busy in work to play with my new toy but managed to on Thursday morning whilst Mary was in town, I assembled it in spite of the instructions and got to work mowing. Fantastic. the lawn looks great, well....for a grotty bit of uneven green land!

Up early this morning, wide awake at 5am so came to work, I've written a few wills and now I'm working on WOL stuff, having trouble getting www.Exmouth.com ranked in Google's UK search, funny, it seems to be the only one we're having trouble with!

I worked 15 hours yesterday and then got up this morning and got straight back to it, I got myself up to date but I've been all worked out all day and not highly motivated at all.

Got to relax this evening and then get myself in go gear tomorrow.

We bought www.Ivybridge.co.uk this morning and Julian set it up as one of our CMS sites so I put a little content on it this afternoon, not directly earning cash but all helps WOL get better and better.

I've poured myself a wine, locked my office up and am about to start the relaxing part, liam's at his dance class and Mary's out with him so it's just me and the cats for 15 minutes, I'll be chilled by the time they get back and Mary's cooked a nice stew for tea.
