View Article  You wont believe this - 5 goals again!

Early start of a league match 12 noon at Winchester 1 1/2 hours drive away but we got there nice and early, had a good warm up, started the match and almost immediately went 1 nil down to a break-away goal. It took us 20 minutes to reply but I got the ball with my back to goal on the edge of the D and hit it hard backwards, it sneaked in right by the right post and we'd drawn level.

Two minutes later I deflected another shot and wrong footed the keeper. 2-1 up at half time.

My third was in the second half hitting an off target shot in at chest high level. Then I had a luck one, I scuffed a shot from the edge of the D, it was still going quickly but it wasn't clean and the keepers left foot stayed rooted to the ground to my surprise and it found t's way in between foot and post.

The last was an easy one, Matt Lawes did the hard work dribbling past 3 players and drawing the keeper, he slped it to me waiting at the back post to push in un-opposed.

So another 5 goals in my second game in 2009, 10 goals this year so far, averaging 5 per game, I wont keep it up but it's a good start!

View Article  London Boat Show

We had a family day out on Saturday, up early and on the first train to London to visit the London Boat Show in the Excel Areana that I've never been to before....I've been to the show when it was at Earls Court but this was the first time for me at the Excel arena.

Liam was a bit tired and bored every now and then but I think he enjoyed looking at the really big boats, I took a good photo of him on the James Bond Sunseeker there.

Here's a photo of Mary on the same boat, she looks like she wants me to buy her one!

Also, last Monday was my Mum's 70th Birthday so we went up to Dorchester for a meal out with some family, here's a photo of us all taken by Mary, we had a lovely few hours there, I think Anya's coming down on Friday for the weekend to see mum, we're all looking forward to seeing her soon.

As for today, it's been quite quiet in the office so I've spent the day updating our Exmouth site and our Bantry Bay site which we bought because that's where Mary's father is from.

View Article  5 Goal madness!

On Saturday I was invited along to a Bridport Hawks HC club day, they organised a match between the under 30's and the over 30's. Obviously I was in the over 30's side, about 3rd oldest I think. I was invited as an ex-captain of the club and, due to being so unfit and in need of excersize I accepted.

The over 30's won, they played me in my old position of center forward, which I used to play when I was younger and fitter.

The score was 5-1 and I scored ALL FIVE of our goals.

Technical note: The real score was 4-1 but I had a perfectly good (and pretty spectacular) goal disallowed because the under 30's said it went through the side netting even though it didn't and poor Mike May, the Umpire at that end, couldn't see because his view was obscure by players and as we were already winning 3-1 at the time he ruled with the youngsters!
