Bike rides

I go out on my bike as much now as I did when I was a teenager and it was my only method of transport other than shanks pony! I cycle in the morning a few times a week, usually with my mate Dean but sometimes on my own. This morning we did a standard short ride, about 7 miles which you can view on Endomondo if you’re a member, just add me as a friend and you’ll see my routes. Part of the ride took us past Sandersfoot Castle, I think it was built by King Henry VIII but restored in the last year and newly openned to the public, they’ve built a great walkway around the ruins so you don’t accelerate the wear & tear, it’s good for bikes too, as if they wanted a bike rack at the end.

That was a good ride and we stopped for coffee when we got to Weymouth harbour.

And during the day, if I have to go into town for the bank or to run errands then I use my bike for that too as there’s almost no point in taking the car into Weymouth, especially during the summer and double especially during the Olympics.

Then, in the evennings, if Mary is rowing or if we’re mmeting up with friends, usually on Portland, then we both go out on our bikes then too. Last night, in a short gap between rain storms, I took this photo below from the Boat that Rocks at sunset.
