Cycle ride

My regular morning cycle ride of about 10 miles usually involves a coffee stop, I tend to use the same early morning cafe every time and it’s right on the harbour side with the same fishermen in every time. It’s great, they know my order and chat with me now, makes me very happy.

Particulalry interesting ride this morning, I went round the Nothe Fort Gardens which I do quite often but the gardens are being transformed as they’re going to be the ticketed venue during the Olympics though I’ve no idea why as you’ll hardly see a thing from there, the sailing is miles out to sea! However, it’s filling up with security fencing, marquees, guards with dogs, all the usual stuff and helps add to the general buzz around the town at the moment.

Last night I sat outside the Ship with a glass of red wine reading my Kindle whilst Mary was rowning and almost everyone around me and walking past had a country team Olympic 5 rings top on, we’re very cosmo at the moment.

I’m still very annoyed about the fact that I don’t know anyone making any money out of the Olympics locally, all the contracts, even for boats in our bay, have gone to outside companies it seems so that’s bad news. But, the buzz is building and it’s going to be a fab time in Weymouth over the next month or so.
