I’ll probably put a review on Trip Advisor too but it’s worth a little note on my blog in the mean time.
I was in Dartmouth with wife, Mary, and friends Amanda & Rosie (Rosie’s a bloke) having a few drinks in a few local pubs there, while we were in The Cherub, one of our regulars in the area, I was tasked with going to the shop ‘cos we’d run out of toothpaste of all things. It was getting dark and we were all starting to get a little hungry so I thought I’d pop my head into a couple of pubs to see what looks good for grub later on my way back to the Cherub. I also needed to check if the pubs visited were dog friendly as Amanda and Rosie had their dog, Harvey, with them.
The Seven Stars looked warm and pleasant, I asked about the dog and they said yes so I took the good news back to the group and we drank up and made the 100 yds trip to the Seven Stars, walked in a sat at a large table, tucked away behind the bar. I hadn’t even looked at the menu by this stage but we were in for a right treat!
The wine menu is good, could be improved but still good, better than many pubs that’s for sure.
The food menu looked quite simple, fish & chips, Sausage and mash, pub chilli etc. We ordered all of those and what a find? The fish & chips looked perfect and the girls tell me it was! The Sausage & mash looked fab, Rosie loved it and cleared his plate, no surprises there! I had the pub Chilli and it was probably the best I’ve ever had.
My message to the Seven Stars….. I’ll be back!
I’m not one to take a picture of my food usually but this was an exception, forgive me, I just had too this time!
